Irene Tomaszewski's I Am First a Human Being: The Prison Letters of Krystyna Wituska was first published in 1997 by Vehicule Press in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (www.vehiculepress.com). It was well received and highly praised.  The book has been republished in the United States by Wayne State University Press: Inside a Gestapo Prison: The Letters of Krystyna Wituska, 1942-1944.
